Washington D.C., July 24 – In a forward-looking initiative that explores the potential of digital tools to improve social compliance auditing, the Association of Professional Social Compliance Auditors (APSCA) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with LANACO, a leader in digital platform development, and the Digital Supply Chain Institute (DSCI), a nonprofit dedicated to digital supply chain innovation.
The MoU outlines a limited, no-cost pilot project that will not involve any commercial exchanges or the use of confidential data. Instead, the pilot is focused on feasibility testing—evaluating whether data-sharing models, grounded in the DSCI Data Trading Framework, could offer meaningful insights into local compliance trends, auditor capacity, and systemic risks. The outcomes will help determine if deeper collaboration or scaled initiatives are viable in the future.
The agreement reflects a shared interest in responsible digital innovation within the social compliance ecosystem. While APSCA’s role in the project is limited, this initiative signals a growing interest in using data to support auditor professionalism and effectiveness over time. DSCI will guide the pilot’s design and implementation, supporting APSCA and LANACO by:
- Applying its tested Data Trading Framework to enable secure and compliant exchanges
- Helping identify useful internal and external data sets
- Advising on how pilot learnings could inform broader digital transformation strategies.
“APSCA sees this small test pilot as an opportunity to learn—both about data capabilities and about how we might better support our members in the future,” said Ross Nova, President and Chief Executive Officer of APSCA. “We appreciate the chance to collaborate with DSCI and LANACO as we explore responsible digital evolution in our sector.”
LANACO shared its optimism for the partnership: “I want to thank APSCA for placing its trust in LANACO and recognizing our potential to deliver measurable value by applying our technology to the DSCI Data Trading Framework. Through this pilot, we aim to deliver direct future business benefits to over 5,000 independent social compliance auditors worldwide,” said Dragan Ninić, VP Strategic Development of LANACO. “This is precisely the type of international project that provides us with a genuine opportunity to make a global impact. Engaging our digital expertise, technological competence, and conceptual innovation in such a strategically important and complex initiative is an honor. As always, LANACO remains committed to innovation and creating added digital value for users across the globe.”
“The DSCI Data Trading Framework ensures secure, ethical, and mutually beneficial data exchanges, which are vital in today’s interconnected digital economy. This pilot is about more than just data—it’s about creating a trusted, repeatable model for value exchange in the digital economy,” said Marko Kovacevic, Managing Director of DSCI. “We are proud to support APSCA in building a future-ready ecosystem, and excited to demonstrate how the Data Trading Framework can help organizations unlock the true value of their data.”
